Wavelock Advanced Technology Co., Ltd., is involved in the manufacturing and marketing of decorative metallic films that use a unique process technology to produce high-quality multi-layer sheets, such as two-layered optical acrylic and polycarbonate sheets that utilize our co-extrusion technology; base materials for medical sheets for plaster, which utilize our printing know-how; and tear tapes for easy opening of packing materials.
Highly differentiated final products can be accomplished by combining optimal processing technologies with optimal base materials. To accomplish this, we have been offering distinctive products all around the world not only with the technologies we own, but also through collaborations with our partners throughout the world.

We will continue to work on finding out optimal film constructions through cooperation of our partners, to further develope advanced products in the future.

We anticipate a progressive increase in use of metallic decorative films – as next-generation materials in the automotive field for their inherent characteristic of radio wave transparency – that lend themselves to automated driving control technologies, additionally contributing to weight savings for improved fuel consumption and further, can contribute to meeting the environmental regulations in Europe and other countries. In addition, our unique coloration technology has realized unprecedented and novel design properties, including deep-look color characteristics and new plating colors. Regarding the application fields, the markets where our films are employed have been expanding year-by-year not only into the automotive field, but also to new markets of luggage such as motorcycles and home electric appliances. Film technology has even acquired the position of the “de facto” standard.
Because smartphones and tablets are switching over to 5G, our multi-layer sheets are becoming popular as a replacement for aluminum used on body covers to correspond to the requirements of radio wave transparency. Demand is also growing in the automotive world, where interior monitors are becoming larger and smart surfaces are becoming more popular.
In the future, we will continue to challenge ourselves as a team by working harder to proactively develop original use applications, focusing on new markets, anticipating the market data and launching new products into the market on a timely basis.

Because novelty is always demanded for the products we produce, we may not be able to make up our minds while we are grasping each day for solutions in an environment where there is no obvious answer or precedent.
I had an opportunity when I was a student to share a house with cosmopolitan people in a certain field. They were used to being well prepared to achieve an outcome, repeatedly analyzing the root cause if a desired outcome was not achieved and spent all their time in practices based on trial and error. They always thought and took actions to enthusiastically find the optimal solution as a result. Watching these behaviors as a student, I understood the challenge of competing on a worldwide level and the insatiable desire to continue to seek out results.
We have a long way to go before we get to the number-one position in the world. However, I think we should continue to work harder so that we can offer advanced technology, products and services – to the very best of our ability – into global markets under the motto “We will perform tasks which move us to tears, whether those tears are of joy or of bitter disappointment.”
